If you, or someone you know, has Lymphedema this is vital information that at some point you will need. Please plan to be in attendance. Saturday 2:30pm. Sunday 1:00 pm.
We're honored to have the amazing Lynne Ashe's phenomenal energy and expertise amongst us! Lynne knew from early childhood that she was meant to be an actor. But at the onset of puberty when her body began changing its shape, it appeared her dreams would not be possible. Everyone she saw on screen was shaped differently, and in the 70s and 80s, fat shaming was considered normal and deserved. Instead of expressing her true self, she felt humiliation and shame and retreated into her shell. Lipedema doesn't only add a physical burden. It is a true challenge to overcome its emotional and mental trauma as well.
It wasn't until her late 40s that she learned of lipedema and that her shape was not the result of something she'd done wrong. She knew from that point that she should pursue her acting career - because this is how she was meant to look! - and also become an advocate for lipedema and educating others, including doctors about the condition.
In the past 12 years, she has appeared in close to 40 films and television shows, including The Suicide Squad, Office Christmas Party, I Tonya, Stranger Things, Stargirl, Will Trent, Dopesick, and The Big Door Prize. She has roles in the upcoming films Color Book and Freedom Hair. Lynne is also a writer and makes jewelry, mostly gemstone, Swarovski crystal, and art glass, which she sells in her Etsy shop, Ashelyn Designs. Check out her "Goddess" earrings and pendants!
Her goal is to help all people to not only accept themselves but to embrace their shape, their true selves, and celebrate their inherent joy of life. Carpe Diem - Seize the Day! Allow Lynne to help you find your power, in her workshop "Energy is Power". Sunday 1:30pm
